Kyanite is also known by the names of disthene, rhaeticite, and cyanite. Although Kyanite comes in colors other than blue, the meaning of its name comes from the Greek word “kuanos”, which means 'blue'. It is said that the sword used by Archangel Michael was made from blue kyanite.

Blue kyanite has been found in Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Burma, Australia, Brazil, Mexico and the United States.

Healing properties of Kyanite

Blue kyanite promotes serenity and a calm state of mind. It brings stillness and relaxation to the body. It releases the fears and anxieties caused by uncertainty. Kyanite is further credited with the ability to promote and maintain inner peace, tranquility and harmony, making it a popular crystal for sleep disorders.

It is a high vibration crystal that is excellent for meditation. Its calming energy helps to restore peace to a damaged relationship by facilitating clear and compassionate communication with others. It encourages you to find your voice and speak your truth.

Blue kyanite is one of only a handful of stones that does not accumulate or retain negative energy, and so never needs cleansing and may clear other crystals.
